Cult Classics presents the 35th Anniversary of CONAN THE BARBARIAN on July 15th!

On July 15th, Cult Classics and Zia Records attempt to solve the riddle of steel and face off against Thulsa Doom when we present a 35th anniversary screening of CONAN THE BARBARIAN!

THIEF. WARRIOR. GLADIATOR. KING.

John Miliuss jingoistic direction and pulpy screenplay fit perfectly into this film version of the Robert E. Howard fantasy story of the sword and sorcery hero, Conan the Barbarian. The story begins when a horde of rampaging warriors massacre the parents of young Conan and enslave the young child for years on The Wheel of Pain. As the sole survivor of the childhood massacre, Conan is released from slavery and taught the ancient arts of fighting. Transforming himself into a killing machine, Conan travels into the wilderness to seek vengeance on Thulsa Doom (James Earl Jones), the man responsible for killing his family. In the wilderness, Conan takes up with the thieves Valeria (Sandahl Bergman) and Subotai (Gerry Lopez). The group comes upon King Osric (Max Von Sydow), who wants the trio of warriors to help rescue his daughter who has joined Doom in the hills.

Cult Classics presents Dive In Movies starting with JAWS on June 30th at Moxy Tempe!

It’s the summer and Cult Classics is teaming up with the Moxy in Tempe to bring you our 2nd Annual Dive-In Movie season — kicking it off with JAWS! Join us on Friday June 30th at 8:30pm for FREE! Watch JAWS in the pool at the Moxy projected on the big screen and enjoy the feeling of being on the water during the peril on the beach film! Admission is free but seating is limited so RSVP today on Eventbrite!

Sunset is scheduled at 7:45 pm. However, we will start movie around 8:30pm so you can enjoy drinks and food at the Moxy’s bar and enjoy swimming and floating in the pool. We’ll have giveaways and much more as well!

There are seats around the pool as well – we encourage small-sized floaties for those watching the movie in the pool.

A DOUBLE FEATURE THAT’LL TEAR YOU IN TWO!

Join Cult Classics on Saturday June 10th at 9:30pm for a special 10th anniversary screening of GRINDHOUSE — featuring PLANET TERROR and DEATH PROOF! Two full length feature horror movies written by Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez put together as a two film feature. Including fake movie trailers in between both movies BY Edgar Wright, Rob Zombie and Eli Roth!

Robert Rodriguez’s segment, Planet Terror, revolves around an outfit of rebels attempting to survive an onslaught of zombie-like creatures as they feud with a rogue military unit, while Quentin Tarantino’s segment, Death Proof, focuses on a psychopathic stuntman who targets young women, murdering them with his “death proof” stunt car. Each feature is preceded by faux trailers of exploitation films in other genres that were developed by other directors.
